Dopamine (Part 2)

How to overcome this? The answer is with Dopamine Detox. Dopamine Detox is the same as when you fast. In this case you fast do things that are fun and provide good taste. We start by choosing one day, where you do not do things that have the potential to reward the brain. For example playing games, listening to music, scrolling social media, eating food junk food or the food you like, meet/chat/hang out with friends and so forth.

On that day, you will feel very bored, lazy and even feel sad or feel depressed and all other forms of feeling bad. This is a very normal feeling to feel. Take this time to do useful things such as for example, cleaning your room, adding knowledge by reading books, exercising, cooking healthy food, meditating and so forth.

Dopamine Detox can also be accompanied by fasting activities. For people who are accustomed to the brain that produces high dopamine, then when doing this dopamine detox, we will definitely feel very uncomfortable. This is a time when we have to realize how depending on we are on these useless things. This is when you have to accept all the discomfort, boredom, depression, sadness, and realize that these things are temporary. And realize that this process is very important to do, to guarantee your happiness in the future.

If this uncomfortable feeling becomes too strong, we can go out to walk, exercise, meditate, or try to write a journal about what we are feeling. This is very helpful to overcome this bad feeling. By doing Dopamine Detox, we are essentially training the brain, to re -reduce the level of dopamine that is used to high down to a lower level.

It is intended that we can better appreciate and feel motivated to do useful things. The point is to do this Dopamine Detox, you see you to get used to being very bored, so things such as cleaning the room that you usually think of boring and not motivated to do it becomes a pleasant thing to do. Including for other useful things such as exercising, completing work, meditating, reading books and so on. Be something that is easy to do. Do this Dopamine Detox at least once a week. The point is we want to train ourselves to be able to minimize doing things that are not useful. We want to always associate a useful activity, with a brain that produces dopamine. It's not empty but producing high dopamine.

Only use things that produce high dopamine in return. For example, after we work all day, we can take the time to watch movies or eat food that we like, or do other things that we like in return.

Thus the next time we will be more motivated to do something useful, because at the end of the day we will get rewards by being able to do what we like. Of course it needs to be remembered, this reward must be with a sufficient amount. Not excessive. And one thing to remember too, never do activities that produce this high dopamine in the morning. Always do what you like at the end of the day after you do useful and useful activities in return.

Remember the old proverb, no pain no gain. This is the importance of we understand the duality of life. There is nothing good things without a bad feelings. And these two things are an inseparable package.
